I'm back from Prague!
I had a great time there : we went to the opera, to the jazz concert, drank lot of wine and ate tons of goulash :)
The opera was absolutely fabulous (even if it was in german subtitled in cszech,) and it reminded me of so many great memories, when I used to sing those songs for school when I was 11 (and it makes me realise that my teacher was crazy... For gods sake, Dreigroschenoper is about sex, gangs and prostitutes, I don't think as a teacher I would have the balls to make the same choices). Two words : Brecht rules!
The city is still beautiful though much tidier and modern than in 1994, when I first came. I'm not sure I like it that way because it's really weird to see streets full of the same shops you have in France (Bata, Promod,...) and you have to wonder about national identity and economy...
But what's funny is that we, western europeans, still think of these countries as kind of retarded or like places where you can party but not live. It's not the case AT ALL. First, culture is everywhere and you don't have to be Bill Gates to afford it! And people are much more polite and calmer than in France. The tramways, buses and subways are awesome! Always in time, very clean and quiet... I kind of envy my sister in law who lives there and it really made me rethink about this old envy of mine to move abroad.
So if you know any school in the US or Canada who's looking for a french teacher, let me know :)
For now, I'm back home, I have lots of terrible papers to grade tomorrow and I'm already looking forward to my next break...

And did I say I loved autumn and its colours (half my pictures have yeloow/red leaves on them), and that I hated my hair?
